Affiliate Mistakes |
Why do most affiliate fail in their marketing effortsThe problem with affiliates when they first start is they believe they have a good idea that no one else has thought of before. They think that they will "build it and they will come" and buy from me because I have the best site attitude. That is what I thought also. Guess what it was wrong and I found that out too late. One of the main problems with this idea is that the site becomes too diversified. Don't feel bad if you are currently making this mistake as it seems to be what all affiliates do when they first start out. My site was going to be the best site ever made lol, Thinking about it now makes me laugh. I was so naive, an affiliate manger sent me an email and he was pushing ink. All of a sudden my site had 10 pages on ink. I was thinking well if a woman comes to the site to by shoes she will remember that her computer needs ink. She already has her credit card out for the shoes so she will buy ink. Sounds stupid now but I actually was thinking this. I could go on and on about having guys going to my auto parts site and clicking on the picture of the beautiful women that were on the banner for the dating site I put there. Sure they clicked on it but once they saw it was $5 a month they clicked off my site and didn't buy the auto parts they came for either. Like I have said before on the site you need to develop a niche and stick with that niche otherwise you not only lose the customer you also lose the chance of them coming back to your site. The goal with any website is getting repeat visitors. That is where the money comes in over and over. I often get asked many questions about affiliate marketing and it often leads back to this same subject. Some people pick it up right away and some have to have it drilled into their head as it is easy to put banners and links on your site that are close to your niche but not quite. You will never make big money in affiliate marketing this way. If it was that easy every affiliate marketer would be rich. |
