Questions I get about affiliate marketing and how I do it
I get asked a lot questions about affiliate marketing. Since there are
many ways to do affiliate marketing there really is no right answer and a
wrong answer to these questions. Most of the questions I get asked about
link partners how to get link partners and have people link to your page,
And so on.
I used to worry about getting partners and all that stuff, but to me
nowadays that's irrelevant. If you build a good site, people will naturally
link to your website. The only problem you have is when your site is new,
then you need a few link partners, but once you get five or six. That's a
good start. You can always build more at a later date.
What I do when I get a new site is write up an article that pertains to the
content of the website I am making and distribute it amongst the article
directory sites. By placing your website url in the resource box section
every time somebody comes and uses your article, you automatically get a
link back to your site.
Now the problem lies with the article itself. If you ran a lousy article,
you'll end up with lousy link partners. I really don't care about lousy link
partners anymore, as you will end up getting them anyway in the long run.
There really is nothing you can do about it, and they really can't hurt your
rankings. Some of the places I distribute my articles is
www.goarticles.com and
www.articlefactory.com. There
are all more article distribution sites, but these are the only two that I'm
using right now.
most of the time I even outsource the article writing, I will hire a writer
from www.elance.com or one of the other
mini article sites that I have people writing for me from. It pays to have
an article written by a writer, especially if you are not a writer. I tend
to type with a Brooklyn accent, so it's essential for me to hire a writer.
It is in my own best interest to have a professional article written. The
better the article, the more people will use on their website.
When I get the article I throw it in content composer and change it up a
little bit and add a compelling headline. If you have a good headline the
end user will keep reading the article. To be honest with you I sucked at
headlines until I read 7 ways to optimize the performance of your homepage.
Some people may wonder why I'm sharing this information, like I have said on
this site many times already I like teaching new people how to do affiliate
marketing, and getting them on the right track. Just don't be expecting to
learn about database sites on this site, that is not my cup of tea.
Spending money wisely on a new website is the key to long term success.
For a brand-new site, I will spend $20-$25 on a new article. Most new
affiliates would spend this money on a pay per click campaign. That's all
fine and dandy, but what happens after the 20 or $25 is spent. I could say
what happens is you end up with maybe a sale, if you're lucky. Your site
doesn't get any more ranking because you have no long-term link partners.
Building up link partners should be a common approach to rising in the
rankings. It will take time to get a whole bunch of link partners, that is
why article distribution is a good idea. People go to these article
distribution sites everyday looking for quality articles. So you may as well
be the one who gives it to them.
I don't even go out and look for the link partners anymore, I get enough of
them from the article distribution sites, as it is. It is only a matter of
time before Google and the other search engines stop recognizing link
partners in my opinion. We're better off in the long run, spending the time
and making your website better for the end-user and not for search engines.
